Working with MOgre

Nov 05, 2007 by Kolky

Last weekend I have been working with MOgre for a school project which concerns my graduating direction, Multimedia Design. MOgre is the .Net variant of a graphics rendering engine called Ogre. We had to create a small game which had some ants crawling for food and battling other ant colonies. I've had quite some fun working on this project, check out the last few screenshots in my picture gallery. My ants have a sphere around them to show what they'r currently doing, since a big part of the game was to be done with a simple AI build by myself.

A red ant is one attacking another. Blue is for searching / scouting the area. Green is when an ant has found or is returning food. Yellow when an ant is getting food from a food node and orange if that food node was empty. And purple when the ant is exploding. The black node marks the home for one colony of ants and the white nodes are food spots.
